Any idea what this tube is?

It is approximately 1.5 inches long, split at the end, 1/4 inch diameter has a white cap at one end and a smaller tube running down the middle about half the length. Appears to bede out of copper. Found in my back yard in middle Tennessee.

The dot in the middle is where the smaller tube is attached. I cant tell what the smaller tube is made out.

Part of a fountain pen Just a guess on my part.

Could it be the stem out of potentiometer from an old TV or radio? The slot is where the knob would slide on.
