I live in Maryland and while raking leaves in my yard I came across this buried halfway in the ground. From the odd shape and cut its definitely not glass and there is no transparency. It's a light shade of lime green in color. Any idea of what it is?

Heck of an odd thing to find in the yard.

Do a hardness test. With quartz. Pic of the other side?

could also be some pale onyx ....why did you decide it was not slag glass?

Slag glass typically has "bubbles" in it. However there are exceptions and then it gets tricky.
"Common" opal could be a candidate, to.

Was a hardness test made?
