Any idea what this large piece of lead is?

My guess is Babbit. used to cushion machinery seeting on a concrete base, it helps reduce vibration.
It is also used for bearings. I have some that looks similar. I got it from an old compressor base years ago.

Looks a piece of roof flashing.

Tea mid 19th Century came in box's lined with sheet lead,but I have never seen a piece that large

On a more macabre note: caskets were frequently lined in lead.

Makes a better tale than roof flashing. ;-)

Thanks! It's my first real find other than nails and trash. Of course this is probably trash too. But it's fun to wonder :)
