That was my first thought as well, but I don't see where it would've attached to the gun. :dontknow: The hole in the item is also not typical of ramrod channels...but it is the right length.

Looks to thin for a guide for a ramrod. Once you loaded you had to hurry up and get the ramrod seated back and you can be rough on it when in a hurry. It does look like it attached to a round piece of wood by a pin. :icon_scratch:

Ramrod pipes have a tab for a pin, or are soldered to the under rib. No tab, no solder, no ID. :wink:

The hole looks like a rivet hole, like on a scabbard tip, but this is not Springfield or Enfield.

It does, however, (photo #2) appear to have the Brit broad arrow stamp. :sign13:
