Welcome to the forum!

Your 2nd item looks like half of a Victorian sash buckle.

I can't really tell from the pic, but the 1st item looks like a clock pendulum.

Thankyou to you both .
The answer to the question on the first picture (clock pendulum) ? is approx 30mm ,not sure it would be a pendulum only on the reverse it has two lug type fixings similar to what goes on a badge?
although i maybe wrong. as i`m no expert :icon_scratch:

Since you pointed out those 2 eye hooks, I can see them now, so probably not a clock pendulum. Does the post straddle the item?

Taz, I just saw your post. You had me by a few minutes. :laughing7:

Sorry but ignore my ignorance , when you say the straddle i guess you are on about the loop (the bent over metal piece fixed at the top of the badge/?) if so yes it is fixed on the reverse and loose on the face .
hope this helps you in anyway , for you both to come up with a cracking answer and positive id.

Breezie asked just what I was wondering about, and you described it well, so I'll say that I think it's a pendant, art nouveau style (maybe 1890-1915) missing the center decoration (glass stone?). But Breezie knows these items well, so I defer to her opinion on the specifics.

The hex(Allen) screw in the center suggests it was made after 1910, although it could have been added.
Neat find Ott, you might be on the trail of a Highwayman!

Can you show a side view of the first item? Is that "protrusion" on top a loop or a (hollow) cylindrical structure? Can't tell by the pics.

On item #1 I am thinking it had porcelain enamel in the center at one time. I want to say I found an old pin or badge once that had almost all the enamel missing and were the enamel was missing it had that same grooves or pattern like on the center of item #1. (Like rays of the sun) Possibly the texture was meant to better hold the enamel? Also seeing as it looks like a pin or badge of some type,, makes sense.

thankyou for all your help ! i will take a picture looking from the side elevation (see what you reckon then)
all sounds pretty good though what you have all come up with.

After seeing this photo, it still looks like a cloak/cape hook to me. The 2 small eyelets would have been sewn on the cape fabric and the large hook would have hooked/connected with another large hook on the other side of the cape. The pic below is the correct orientation.

Photo hint: Whenever you're taking a pic of a dark object, put it on a darker background like medium to darker blue or green instead of white, then the contrast will not be so great.

Thankyou for the photo advice (learning all the time) .
so one last question if you dont mind . the cloak clasp date is approx 1910 onwards , what age could i put on the sash buckle ?

Sorry for the late reply though ....

Sash buckles have been used for many, many years, but looking at the 'design' of yours, I would say it is Art Deco, which was popular internationally during the 1930s-40s.
