Any idea what metal this is. Totally non magnetic, hard, heavy, tests negativ...

Sorry further description didn't print. Tests negative for silver, gold or platinum, way too heavy for aluminum, way too hard for lead, polishes nicely, non magnetic, Found in a open field with no other hits, reads 86 on an AT Pro. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I made it into a pendant.

Thanks for the ideas. Don't think it has any copper in it. Just does not seem like brass or bronze and not quite as hard as stainless steel. Color true color is kind of a steely grey. It is a real mystery to me. Strange thing is that there were no other hits any where around it.

No way to tell from a pic. Need to do a streak test, try to scratch a piece of quartz, maybe, and then do a specific gravity test, if you really want to know what it is.

Sounds good to me. When anyone asks what it is I'll say an earthling told me it was a nickel meteorite!
