I can't help with the ID, but can you give us all the details? Diameter, thickness, weight and is it magnetic? Can you tell what type of metal it's made from?

hope you dont mind nl...I moved update here for continuity......

"the Capt-Zero asked for more info on it : no it's not magnetic, it weighs 4.5 grams, it is 1/16 of an inch thick and on my Tesoro Silver Sabre it still gives a good clear signal on pulltab and also zinc penny discrimination, it's dark grey in colour, the CLR did't seem to affect the item, it just ook the salt off or most of it anyway . thanking you all for your inputs."

I should add that there are known conditions(gold nuggets)where gold can take on a surface amalgum and appear almost any color.....time to have your coin tested asap.weight indicates silver..what is size referance to u.s.coin?if its not gold it may be replica
