Find a point in that area then we can help ID the age otherwise all periods used that style of tool and would only be a guess. Nice knife!

Looks like the base has been broken off. With out the base it is hard to tell, it would onld be a guess on my part. The size would help some also.

Looks like the base has been snapped off. With out the base it is hard to tell what style. It will only be a guess on my part. The size would help some also.It could be a knife or a dart point. I am going to say some type of dart point. Base was snapped off on impact and poinit was chiped also.

No Base but definitely a chip.....By the beveling I would venture a guess to known beveled blades and say it is a Dovetail preform lacking the corner notches. Made out of heat-treated Burlington Chert. This type point would indicate middle to late archaic period....................JMO....................Welcome to the forum!!..............................GTP

Thanks everyone for all the great replies. Glad I found this site.

I just attached pics of other possible artifacts I found in the same creek bed. I am very new at this so I pretty much picked up anything interesting. Let me know if any of these are points ect... I appreciate all the info. Thanks Ian.

Nice add to the other one. What do you think the last one is?

I really have no idea. My son picked it up thinking it lokked like an axe. It is very thin and smooth on both sides.

Also in response to my first pic (knife/blade) it is 2 1/4" long.
