A lot of the fishermen in these parts(Mid-MO),pour their own weights for the 'snagging' season(spoonbill). They make their own molds also.Since they want to know exactly what weight they are using, they usually mark them this way. Some locals also make weights for the small bait shops to sell .

I think the one you have was called a bank mold. We used to have alot of fun making those with my dad and still remember him yelling for us not to spill the hot lead on us . LOL....they also made great head whackers when you tied a four foot string on them.... :D

Re: Any idea on this "mold" age.....

I used to make sinkers and sell them to the local bait shops when I was a kid for spending money. I mostly made the "egg" style. Yours appears to be for bank lines. I used to pick up used wheel weights along the street whenever I saw them and there was a FULL service station down the street that I used to frequent and became friends with the owner and he would give me used wheel weights....Ahhh, the good old days. When an enterprising kid could make a couple of bucks and stay out of trouble.

There's some molds on ebay, just can't tell if the weight numbers are raised.
