One part is very much a buckle. early 1900's. I dont think the two go together. The one on the left is too large. Probably part of a medallion of some sort.

They were in same hole together and you can actually see the discoloration of where they were attached. On the back of the smaller oval piece there were 2 small tabs (only one remains)that attached to buckle plate, you can also see the half moon holes on the plate side where the tabs inserted. Would have looked something like this. She also cleaned up very nice and as soon as i get some new batteries for camera wil post.

Looks like they good together to me.. really cool looking!! There was a whole fashion "movement" that made ancient Greek and Roam themes popular.. I have found brooches.. lades sash buckles.. buttons all with and Ancient Greek or Roman theme.. that is one of the best things I have seen dug from the period.. most of the things I have dug have seemed to be for woman.. pretty cool!!

MonkeyBoy is correct... a common era theme.

Usually attributed to Minerva, but, as you can see from this post by
Modern Miner it can be argued! :) Truthfully you'll never know "who" it
was suppossed to be, but it's a victorian piece... so that's cool! :)
