I am new to the site and just started May 1st hunts this week. Looking for more guidance on locations doing this with a 5 year old. Included some pics from our first finds...
I grew up hunting in Cecil county. It took a lot of time and hunting to find good spots. The good thing is most of the farmers are nice enough to let you walk the fields. Your a few weeks late for fields tho . Most of them have crops sprouting already. I have a friend that spends a lot of time below the conowingo damn on the flats. He has found some realy nice artifacts around there.also something cool to check out with your hunting partner is a museum called Indian steps not far from you. It's well worth the ride here's the link www.indiansteps.org
Good luck hunting it's a great hobby
Thanks arrow86 have a few leads from an ex teacher and huge environmentalist hoping for big things tomorrow I will post pics... Any thoughts on previous pics? Especially the dark thick arrowhead curious about that one! If ever want to catch up would love it. Need a break from the son- he can only take so much where I could search all day. Thanks again!
If you want a hunting partner I am willing to arrange a dig site. I too am new to the hobby but have been into the history of this region for a long time. If a few of us put our notes together we should do well. This is a great time for finding artifacts in the farm land, before the fields are seeded for crop. Let me know if you or anyone local is down for a hunt. Either way good luck and happy hunting
Welcome and yes always looking for a hunt. Funny looking back at my first post and seeing the natural rocks I thought were artifacts... I have come along way since May
