clearly handmade (i admire the finger strength of anyone that can leave fingerprints in sterling silver)

the leather from the bolo was dry rotted, so i am guessing it was pretty old, managed to clean up this piece, and save the tips.

I have seen a lot of bolo ties but nothing even remotely similar to this.

I know this is a longshot, so am throwing it out there for anyone who may know anything about it.

its 1.5" wide, 2" tall, acid tested as sterling silver, and over 2.3ozt

Prints were in the casting mold.

nothing on it looks cast, and all the finger ridges go into the silver not out

Obviously you are not familiar with the process of casting.

Several molds are used.

Initial unvulcanized rubber molding compound mold...

Then wax mold.

Then investment mold.

Then actual cast.

It is physically impossible to leave fingerprints embedded in lead... a soft metal... let alone any other metal.

Unless of course...

You are Superman. heh

It's a musical note done in a Brutalist style if that's what you're asking.

Obviously, you are not familiar with the process of working with PMC.

PMC is hand rolled, pressed, squeezed, layered and molded into a desired shape.

Then it dries.

Then it's heated to burn off the binder.

Then it's heated at an even higher temperature after that to fuse the metal.

Then it's done, ready to be polished or what have you.

It was hand formed.

No molds involved whatsoever.
