???? Any Help Appreciated

I found this small thin and very brittle copper piece the other day.......... it's about 19 mm, the size of a penny. The first picture shows what it looks like in it's present condition, as I found it..... the 2nd picture has been modified by me using photoshop to show what may have once looked like......... there doesn't appear to be any writing or markings on either side of this item..... any help would be greatly appreciated........

It looks like one of the copper pieces that hang around a bracelet. This one may have fallen off.
