Looking for areas in wisconsin preferably S/SE that would be good for searching. Also if there is a way to find out legality information IE state parks or other places that you can do this in as well. Thanks much for the help =)

Metal detecting search results:

Gold Panning search results:

Apart from that, chances are, there is someone else on here likely knows more about the area.

I did the google searches already with little helpfulness. Did find 2 or 3 ghost towns but i have a 150 year old farm 90 acres to search (grandparent.....in family 130 years.)

Thanks for the ideas though.....anyone else?

hey there fellow 'sconnie.you need to buy the united states treasure atlas....volume 10. vol 10 covers the states of vermont, virginia, washington, west virginia, wisconsin and wyoming. it will list for you, county by county....old ghost towns, forts, military encampments, shipwreck sites on the big lakes and the mississippi as well as local legends in each county about old hermits and misers who stashed thier cash and died without it being recovered. there are 867 sites listed for wisconsin in this volume....hope it helps you.
