I don't know as much about Civilian relics as I do about civil war Military relics. But based on what I've seen and read in the relic forums, my guess on your candle-holder's age is mid-1800s to late-1800s. Here's a photo of a non-dug specimen which seems to be exactly like yours, in every detail. That photo was originally posted by fellow T-net member Reale Bill. You could send him a PM asking him to take a look at your post here in the What Is It forum, so he can tell us if he knows the correct time-period.
