Have to be found worthy of it my friend. :). And really neat find above. I have only found one Masonic piece since I have been detecting. It was a token from the. 50s

That is one impressive token, is that 1912 or 1917 on the edge?

Its a masonic shekel. The owners initials are ingraved in the center SGC. Correct me if I'm wrong but believe they were given when accepted into Masons. More common are pennies.

That is an awesome piece friend. Would u part with it?

I've been asked several times but no. I would like to find out who the initials belonged to and when he became member.I'm sure records exsist. I emailed the Grand Lodge in Georgia but never got reply. Also Mt.Zion lodge email bounced back..full. BTW coinmain. that date is when the My Zion Lodge was chartered
But I do feel token does belong to family...My Zion lodge or Ga Grand Lodge

Yep i'm a master Mason In Kansas. senior deacon . I just keep looking to the East trying to find something. lol

Lol. Good to meet you brother. Well you already found what's in the east my friend .

Can't get enough of it though ;)

I'm not involved myself, but the rest of my family was. Dad passed in 2004 but was a 32nd degree master mason (Scottish Rite), Senior Warden at table mt. lodge #124 and was a Shriner. Mom was in Eastern Star and Job's Daughters. Can't remember her rank. Older sister is a Past Honored Queen and younger sister was involved but too young at the time to participate. I was asked when I was younger to be a part of DeMolay but turned it down for little league and chasing girls. haha. My father's dad was also a Freemason as was his father. The involvement faded when my dad passed away.

I remember him practicing for the staircase lecture. He was very proud of that. He was a well liked and appreciated man.

You were asked to join?

Otis a nice lecture

Been taking a detector for walks for 40 years and a Freemason 45. Belong to lodges in both Iowa and Louisiana. My father-in-law would have disowned me if I would have joined any other lodge than his lodge. Am both Scottish and York Rite. To many other honors and titles to list. Main thing is that I am a Master Mason all the rest is just icing on the cake.

I write on Masonry as it concerns the Knights of the Golden Circle. You can find me on the KGC board. There are many more of the brotherhood on here. Some just don't want to let it out. For me I am to well known in certain circles to hide. I just prefer to hide out in plain sight under my screen name.

Sincerely and Fraternally

Senior Deacon

Nicely written. Good to meet you brother
