Any clues?

It measures 1.75" and appears to be made of copper or brass. The back appears to be filled with pewter.

Can you give us some clues as to what kind of area this was found in? Maybe you could repost a photo of it next to a coin for size comparison.

Looks like a rosette (bridal button)... horse tack... I base that on the back side loop...
