This double ring thingy is all brass ... small circle measures a little over 1/2 inch in dia., large circle is right at 1 inch dia. and the handle/knob thing is 3/4 inch long. Looks like something was broken off of the small circle.

Part of a horse "gag bit" I suspect.

It looks like part of an early opera veiwing glasses. You can see the ridges and well area inside the loops that heald the glass lens. The bar is for holding and flipping the glasses. Thats my best guess.

I can tell you exactly what it is...broken finger/thumb end of a wick trimmer. Similar to these. The one in three pieces I found at an old site...luck to get all the bits.

I agree with romeo-1...broken handle from a wick trimmer, or perhaps a candle snuffer.
