Part of a horse "gag bit" I suspect.

It looks like part of an early opera veiwing glasses. You can see the ridges and well area inside the loops that heald the glass lens. The bar is for holding and flipping the glasses. Thats my best guess.

I can tell you exactly what it is...broken finger/thumb end of a wick trimmer. Similar to these. The one in three pieces I found at an old site...luck to get all the bits.

I only knew it because of the "whole" trimmer I found...but it was my pleasure.
