I found this in my uncle's barn. I spent 3 days checking my tool sites and haven't found a thing.
Any info or good tool site links would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Is the name "B.C. Davis" or "B.G. Davis"? I found a few patents for similar looking contraptions attributed to Biram C. Davis and they are used in the making of window blinds.

I couldn't find anything for him dated 1865 but I did find another patent, 49888, that was for a window blind related tool. The tool you have may have been an improvement on that and the 1865 date was an attempt to acknowledge that...IDK, just speculating at this point. :icon_scratch:

I think daroofa has it. It is a version of a hand machine for wiring window blinds originally patented in 1859 by Birak C. Davis.

It's an odd looking contraption...

daroofa,
Yes, it is B. C. Davis. I believe you "nailed" it. :icon_thumleft: It looks like some variation on that theme.
I agree DC Matt. It looks even odder in person. But hey, it still works.
So if I ever need to repair some 1800's window blinds, it'll be handy.
