Metal Detecting
Well at first i thought this was a musket ball but I was wrong I found this with my new garrett at pro my bounty hunter never dected this type of metel before I assumed it's lead because it's a little heavier then the rocks I am wondering what is it 20160612_181255.jpg20160612_181300.jpg20160612_181255.jpg

Can't really tell by looking at it. Try to cut it with a knife. If it is soft, and very shiny where you cut it, it's lead. If it's hard, it's something else. See if a magnet sticks to it.

If a magnet sticks it won't be lead.

Did the magnet test and it's not sticking

Well, if it was easy to cut it is lead, if hard to make that cut, it is another metal or more likely a piece of a meteorite or a small one...

I study inorganic chemistry, metallurgy, etc., and that appears to be lead, however maybe mixed with a lot of antimony (a metalloid added to bullets for strength) or maybe even iron due to corrosion. lead oxidizes grey not brown so it is probably a bullet or some small lead object
