Any body good with Seals from 14th century

Went out yesterday on one of my old fields due to the frost making it extremely hard to dig at all.
l really wanted to go back to the field that l recently found the 2 Iron Age Staters. but it was much too
hard for me to dig. so l had to find another field.

This particular field was rough ploughed and weathered so was a bit "fluffy" so l was able to dig.
only 2 decent finds along with the buttons: lead : and cartridge ends:
A Seal matrice .
An English Jeton. (holed).
l dont seem to be able to decipher the Seal . so any help would be welcomed.
looks a bit like two birds on a branch. Hutch.

Always hard to get these earlier Jettons compared to the German ones

The circa 14th C Seal Matrix is a tough one without it 'in hand', I'm have trouble seeing the 'initial cross' which seems to be missing I can make out a number of the letters but they make little sense. Its a great find

The circa 14th C Seal Matrix is a tough one without it 'in hand', I'm have trouble seeing the 'initial cross' which seems to be missing I can make out a number of the letters but they make little sense. Its a great find

I think that l can just make out a star which possibly would be the start of the legend ,it's at 9 o'clock on the impression.
Also there is just a slight vestage of silver plating at about 7 o'clock on the cross side of the jeton.

OK I see, they often started with stars as well, so ?'ELAI??AVCT (no idea really, other than the first ? is normal a shorten version of 'seal of', can be just 1 letter & a '.

OK I see, they often star with stars as well, so ?'ELAI??AVCT (no idea really, other than the first ? is normal a shorten version of 'seal of', can be just 1 letter & a '.

Working on your letters plus after some more work on the seal itself :: cleaning and work with a probe. l am sure it reads as follows::
LEL AMI AVET which translates to "You have a loyal friend" Thanks! Hutch.

Re - The Jetton :: Could it be a contempory forgery of a silver penny? Here is picture of a penny on the top as a scale:; the jetton is actually slightly bigger. l still think it is a jetton and not a forgery. many thanks. Hutch.

Nice finds. It has been about 50 degrees here in Kentucky and the ground is damp from the rain and this morning there was a fresh blanket of snow. I have been wanting to get out and ground fish and hit the yard and found a penny and some scrap metal. I have finished my masters degree this past Monday and looking forward to put my AT Pro to some good use.

Thats a good match. But interestingly, it has the 'star' in the 12oc position which is where you would expect it on most Seals & yours is in the 6oc position. The craftsman made a small error of judgement, it would seem.

Nice Seal you don't see many of those. The Jetton is a An English ’sterling bust’ jeton dating to the early 14th century, The piercing is a characteristic of English jetons of this period. It is believed to have been done to prevent them from being silvered and passed off as coins.
Another one that doesn't turn up often..nice find
