Can anyone tell me anything about this pendulum? It dates to about the 1920’s, has three rods (one for water, gold and silver) that screw onto the bottom. It is made of wood with metal caps top and bottom. It seems to be weighted with something on the inside. You can hear it move like pellets or something when it’s shaken. I can find nothing written or stamped on it.
Any information would be appreciated.

That is a beautiful looking piece! Thanks for posting it and I hope some info can be shed on it.

This is the second pendulum I've seen attached to a rod or a wand. I'm fascinated by this but haven't been able to find any historical reference for it. Anyone else know anything about it?

Thanks
I assume the wand goes with it since it breaks down into two pieces
I have searched high and low and found nothing on the likes of this one
sure hope someone knows something

Metals vary in the way they respond to electromagnetic waves. We know brain waves are electromagnetic in nature also.

L-rods are made out of whatever metal the dowser feels comfortable with...perhaps the pendulum designer had something similar in mind.

Does the pendulum top unscrew to open up a place to put a sample of something like a gold nugget or piece of ore? There used to be a popular brass pendulum like that, top comes off to place a small sample inside.

Yes that's right, Red_desert, it's the Mermet pendulum, named after its conceiver, Abbé Mermet of France; the legendary dowser. This is the one I use, sourced from http://www.emeraldinnovations.co.uk/radionic/Pendulums/Mermet_Pendulums/mermet_pendulums.html or better still, for anyone reading, buy a neutral wooden one and support the British Dowsers here http://secure.britishdowsers.org/cgi-bin/shop/commerce.cgi?product=Tools!Pendulums&pid=6
