So I came across this and did some googling did not come up with much and my knowledge is limited as of now. I did come to this site via another item featuring the german "gesetzlich geschützt" marking which is supposed to be just like a statement saying it's trademarked. It says this on the back of one the trays. The other says "DEP .". I can not see any other markings. I'm also a noobie in identifying metals so I can not tell you what metal it is. I'd love to get into identifying metals in the near future so if any information on that. I'd love to be your sponge. But, first things first, let's figure out what this is.

I took one of the photos next to a Double AA battery for size comparison. If requested I'll gather the dimensions. Thanks everyone in advance for your posts and what a fun way to start my journey on this site as a new member than a "what is it" post.

Also please feel free to give me a time period you believe it could be from. I'm getting varied ideas from research on what period it could be from. Late 1800s-mid 1900s

Thanks again in advance.

Not pin trays. More likely nut dishes. Possibly part of a set.

Is that an angel on horseback? What is the other image? 3 people under an umbrella?

Pewter? Sterling? Hard to say without having them in hand.

I would guess art nouveau period (turn of the 20th C.)

Yes, it appears to be an angel on a horse playing a trumpet.

The other is 3 people, perhaps women underneath an umbrella, 1 of the women is carrying a basket full of stuff and one of the other is reaching her dresses pocket.

Yeah I can't tell the difference between pewter or sterling, I'm sure somebody will come in and tell me how to tell the difference.

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking of getting an acid test, what would you guys recommend? I'm pretty positive this is more than likely a pewter or something and not silver.

Would be interesting to figure out if it had a decent value and maybe give it a name.
