Civilman and I have to work for every single find,
not that we all don't, but they are coming fewer and
much farther between in the fields we hunt.
Some days we get only one or two good finds, but
we sure wouldn't trade our time in the fields for
anything!

Scabbord tip Found in the roots of a fallen tree.
Sword hanger
Grommets - 3
Enfield with 57 in it
58s 3 total
Iron fork
Iron backpack hook
Buck
Misc. lead
Dark green glass

Well damn.. you got some good lead.. good brass.. and most importantly.. you got out. I'd call that a all around good hunt! Glad to see you still getting relics out of there. Keep at it..

Those who are persistent always get payed. Congratulations. Life is great.

The iron hook in the upper right corner of your picture is the sling swivel for a Pattern 1853 English Enfield Rifle-Musket. The brass hook in the center of the picture is the hook used on a Federal pattern musket sling. Great Finds by the way - keep up the good work!

Thanks for the information!
If I don't know what it is....I guess. :tard: :tongue3:

I know what you mean. It is really getting hard to find good relics. Between work and giving detecting lessons to my hunting buddy it's a wonder I find anything.

that machine! :hello2:

wish I was there with you

Great finds  I know what you mean about working hard for it but it is still there!!

Thanks guys!
I know we are lucky to hunt such a historic area.
Yesterday an old timer who has been hunting the
battlefields for over 30 years stopped to talk to us,
and man, the stories of the finds he told....WOW!!!
It just got me to thinking that it would be nice to
hunt some virgin sites again.
