✅ SOLVED another whatsit from my yard of bermuda triangle type stuff

I have been posting plenty of things on here recently from my backyard since it gives up the weirdest things. I am sorry for that, and don't mean to annoy you treasurenet folks. A lot of this stuff is old and I have never seen it before. Searching google would do nothing since I wouldn't know what to search. With that said here is a whatsit that was totally encrusted. I left it in the electrolysis machine overnight because I fell asleep but it cleaned up pretty good. Now My area may have once been a farm who knows. It is in Shippensburg, PA. There is an old barn out back but this is all houses now. Any idea what this little guy is? or how old? or what his purpose was?

A turnbuckle would tighten as the middle piece would turn screwing the two end closer together,as in a wrestling ring....also seen on old wooden screen doors stretched diagonal to tighten the old wobbley door.

Thanks Gary! Glad you guys know what your looking at. I am learning as I go with all the weird things here. My yard produces more weird stuff than any of my previous houses did. Much of this stuff I have never seen before. Once again thank you guys for your input so I can put this in the junk pile.
