Another "what is it?"

Found this without the detector before I started. It appears that it might be an iron of some sort.

1st - I noticed this was your very first post William - so, Welcome Aboard! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

Thanks. I am always in need of direction.
This was found in Northern Virginia within spitting distance of DC.
It is just short of 6"s in length, 1 1/4 "s in width and 2 1/4 "s in height.

Looks like part of some sort of level... line level perhaps ? ? ?

Looks like a weight - for holding down something in a corner.

Linoleum or Formica?
