Went back to that cotton field yesterday and found another Waterbury Button. This one a lot smaller than the last one. I put them together for this photo for comparison. Also included in the photo is a 14 mm socket, Lincoln penny and a bullet. Not sure of the caliber.
The little dollar size tag has Lady Esther and Chicago stamped on it. Here is the info I found at http://www.ladyesther.com/company/museum
1938
Lady Esther Rouge Tester
This little tester set was actiually patented in the US! The brass boxes are about the size of a Dollar coin and they carry the ribbon pattern. There are two versions, stamped either Chicago or Toronto. Lady Esther had their own production across the border in Canada, obviously for tax and duty reasons.

Thanks for looking, and Happy Hunting

Neat buttons. Have you ID'd them yet? CW?
Would you mind posting a closer picture of the front & a shot of the back marks?
I'm trying to put my button ID books to good use. ;D
Congrats,

Hi ModernMiner my post for the larger button is at:

The best I can tell from Waterbury website the button is a fashion button and probably
civilian not military. Although Waterbury does make military buttons CW and Modern.
They been in business since 1812 and still making metal buttons. Yard Digger

could be a na early air force button?
Possibly, but I'd think that Air Force would be stamped on it some wheres.

Both buttons are Air Force Dress blues buttons. The larger one from the front of the blazer and the smaller from the cuff. Wer used up to the 90's (?) and replaced with the new wing design. I had them on my uniform in the 80's.

Thanks John, knowing that they are military makes them a good bit more valueable to me. Yard Digger
