Hit an old park I've done okay at in the past. Nothing too exciting, but I did get a 1947-s Rosie, $8.67 in clad, a pocket knife, tweezers, scissors, a Hot Wheels car, a key, a paper clip and a piece of Chi bling.
The best part was the sunny 70 degree tee shirt weather!

Good finds. Is the Hot Wheels car supposed to be the Batmobile?

looks like that was fun, love that silver too

Looks like you can start your own Dollar General with all of those finds.
Do you do better in Reno or Vegas?
Congrats on the silver,
MM

You got out, you enjoyed the weather and you made a very good variety of recoveries! The year is still young and the gold will come! Good luck!
Thanks, I always do well in Tahoe in the summer so I'm not too depressed about it just yet. :laughing7:

I find lots of gold and silver jewelry up north, but silver coins are few and far between there, much more of them in the Vegas area. Since coins don't tend to be very old out west I'm way more into finding gold jewelry and stone artifacts.

Have you ever hit on a spot with a bunch of old silver coins. I would think people would have dropped alot before they went to clad coins, then Casino tokens, and now a slip of paper.
I remember walking around with those big red trays that contained $100 world on $1 tokens. Also the plastic buckets you could use to take your $ to the cashiers. My buckets were usually pretty empty. :BangHead:

My hunting buddy in Reno came across a spill of merc dimes up by Virginia City a couple of years ago. There were 62 in about a 20'x20' area on the steep slope below a roadside pullout. I always suspected some drunk gambler got out to pee and forgot the coin bucket was in their lap.
He took me to the spot the next day and I found 6 more.

That is so cool. I love Virginia city and those old western building and cemetery. I won $100 on penny Keno at one bar. The bartender owner couldn't believe it. LOL.
Very was a very windy road to get there.
Happy hunting,
MM

Looks like you did quite well...especially the 70 degrees part. We're still freezing our tails off here in the NorthEast.
