Hi - my first thought when I saw it was a 1806 -1807 George III halfpenny and when I flipped your first image some of the features do seem to match up. The size is right too.

The "counterstamp" is interesting. It may be some kind of impression made with another coin or token since as you said it does look to be in reverse.
