Why do you think it is Roman? I don't see anything I recognize as Roman.

I don't know for sure Daryl but it dosen't look like any thing I have dug before. I have dug quite a few romans, but don't know that much about them. If the letter on the reverse is a K it might be Byzantine. K in Greek, was for 20 nummi coins . There is part of a face on the obverse which mightr help someone I.D.

Doesn't look like anything I've seen either in my UK or Netherlands finds or in my search for an ID. It has serious bronze disease and may only be the center of a coin. I agree there appears to be part of a figure on it but it doesn't look like an emperor or anything like that. I might look more in Saxon or Celtic.

Yes, its Roman, 350 AD or so. It is clipped, and it is a coin of Magnentius, usurper to the Roman throne, England was one of his regions. That one is a Chi-Rho reverse, check here. The pic at the top of the page is like yours. If it was a full coin you'd have a nice one there, its the most desired coin of this emperor.

Thanks, looks
like another "what's it" solved. I wish I had found the whole coin and it would have been easy. I have never seen a roman coin with the Chi-Rho reverse, thats what had me stumped. Thanks again.

"may there always be a road"
