I found this Toy Gun a few weeks ago and I was wondering if anyone recognizes it and how old it might be what type of gun is the toy etc. Thanks for your time and interest.

It is a toy flintlock pistol. cant help with the age or maker though.

Reminds me of a 'pirates pistol' souvenir a kid might've picked up at the airport gift shop.
Looks to be made of pot metal Alan... date wise 1950s - 60s.

Looks like half a 'crossed pistol' military police insignia.

The Mattel toy co made a series of small firearms in the sixties based on famous guns throughout history. They were called "Golden Guns" and were about this size and made of pot metal. They weren't that popular with kids because kids aren't nostalgic!
