Another Target Confirmed!!! - UPDATED

We were very lucky to get this land as the owner had been threaten by a night hawk, so understandably he had a poor impression of metal detecting. Our negotiator got us permission for this land but was trying to track the owner of another crop mark, so this kinda fell in his lap.
Our target areas are all under crop on this land as per everywhere else, but in a few days they were about to put in the maize for bird cover, so we had a couple of pockets of land to try. 1 small area was next to a potential Roman Site, & we now have proved it with 7 Roman Coins plus Dad got a surprise Celtic Bronze (our 4th this year)

RUES (Another ruler we have never had until now)
10BC-10AD
Lion Right
Eagle (reverse)
Only about 25 recorded examples.

In another small area I got a Hammered of Henry III & Dad got 2 Buckles
I got a Jetton of a type I haven't seen until now

So for just over 4 hours - Celtic-Roman-Medieval-Modern

Another Roman Site to look forward to

Yeah, Dad had 3 of the 7 Romans as well, so a much better day.

If you carry on with your finds rate your going to have buy the other half another pair of flip flops . She can't hardly ever get to wear them. Anyway nice finds Cru, it looks like your team is shaping up for a record year . I shall watch with interest.

We are trying our best to beat last year. I think in certain area's we already have - ie. more Saxon stuff than unusual. Plus 4 Celtic Bronze (the last 2 years we had 0 at all!) Our hammered count is taking a hammering but we are mainly targeting Celtic/Roman Sites this year, so I guess we have to expect it. Plus last year we had a late option due to wet conditions & it just happened to be what I now think is a Fair Site (after realising the similarities with Shun7's Fair Site land)

Nice Historic Saves-We are sure not going to find anything that old (except Native American artifacts) in Tennessee. Thanks for the history lesson that you graciously gave me regarding the 1800s coins from France and Italy that Dman and I found here recently. HH, Quindy.

Commonly called a 'Snake' Buckle, but its the centre piece which clipped onto two ringed loops (1 on each side). The design goes back hundreds of years but the early ones were more bird like than snake. This one was popular on Sailors uniforms & may only date back 50-100 years.
