Another Southern Illinois Cache

I posted this on another site a few days ago, and intended to post them here as well.

This was my share of a cache of 21 bone arrowheads I dug with my father and another collector in Illinois along the Wabash River back in the 80's. Caborn-Wellborn phase (same culture as the Slack Farm site in Kentucky.)

Very nice Josh ! I like bone it just does not last very long in this area for some reason.What I do find is smashed to peices in the trash pits. That tells me they were hungry and in a hurry for a meal. :thumbsup:

Very cool finds. We don't see any Mississippian in my neck of the woods in northern Illnois. The only arrow points we get are from the very late woodland. A complete lack of shell tempered pottery except for the Apple River focus about 50 miles to the north.

I think the Duffy site is in Gallatin Co, Il and imagine that these piece came from close to this site. I've got a pot from this site that is a super piece in the closet with the pots
