CTX 3030 , Deus 1 & 2,
The weather was perfect--almost hot actually!!
Ground was near perfect for digging--not to hard--not too wet.
The deep signals were strong.
Silver count was good.

What a day!!

Always nice to hear from a fellow Minelab user? 8)

Overall, how do you like the Explorer 2? Thinking about adding one to my Excalibur arsenal.

The Explorer XS or the 2 are in my opinion the best Deep Coin machine on the market. Many machines will detect as deep but they do not ID as accurately as the Explorer does. I have compared many machines vs the Explorer on in ground (undug) targets. Like I said many machines heard the target, but could not ID them accurately. The MXT was the next best in line but the ID got a bit jumpy on coins around 6-7 inches. The Explorer will let you know it is a coin at 10+ inches.

The XS and the 2 are basically the same machine. Minelab just fixed a few mistakes that should have been on the XS. Performance between the two machines is the same. I have them both and have never seen a difference in performance.

Ron, have you ever compared the Explorer 2 with the Excalibur?

The Excal and the Sovereign are basically the same machine electronically. ?The Excal is a waterproof Sov.

I used the Sov prior to the Explorer coming out. ?Let's just say that I decided to go with the Explorer as I feel it has advantages in the depth dept.(only slightly) and the ID dept. ?I also think that the E is a little better in the iron sites that I occasionally hunt. ? I think the Sov and Excal are a little hotter on the lower conductive targets so it does have its advantages for beach and water hunting were gold is the primary target most of the time.

But on land, the Explorer has the edge over the Excal. ?But the Excal or Sov are still hot machines for the money.

I did have an Excal for the water but since I now live 2 hours from the beach, I sold it.
