Can you see any letters on the bottom under the XXX? This will indicate the mint.

Is it 15mm?

Constans

D N CONSTANS P F AVG, diademed head right / VOT XX MVLT XXX, 4 lines in wreath and is an AE3. circa 347-348 AD.

Constans was Caesar from AD 333-337 and Augustus from AD 337-350. The Reverse style signified a commemoration of the VOTA., prayers offered by the emperor and his subjects in gratitude, in this case, for XX (20) years of rule. However, the emperor's often anticipated e.g. Jovian issued a VOT V (5 years of rule) at the start of his reign but he only actually reigned for 9 months in the end. the MVLT XXX refers to prayers offered in the hope of a further 5 or ten year period of rule. The coins were ususlly struck at 5 year intervals. The first 20 years was known as an emperor's vicennalia.
