We are just starting to learn how to pan, so this is all new to us. We are visiting relatives in western N.C.
The snow melted a day or two ago, so out into the wilderness we went. We found a nice out of the way stream and got about 1/4 of a 5 gallon bucket full of concentrates. We saw loads of nice quartz, and some other neat rocks. We brought the concentrates home and panned it out in the warmer garage. So, this is our very first panned gold!
We ended up with 18 small pieces of gold which, for us, was pretty exciting.
There is still much to learn, but we are on our way!
