Went back for round 2 at the CW camp I found. The day did not disappoint;

The 15 three ringers from the bottom row came out of a 1x1 foot hole, with probably just as many more signals a foot or so away. I took a break from digging bullets and decided to keep moving. I was hoping it was a dropped ammo box with a box plate (but all I kept seeing were bullet signals). Definitely need to return and clean the area up properly.

A couple of Washington Arsenal star bases.

A few chewed up general service buttons.

A keg tap key (I believe), a knapsack hook, a square nail that amazingly looks like it was dropped yesterday and a muster item.

Need help with ID on these guys:

Cartridge?

Thanks for looking!

I don't know what your mystery items are, but really nice finds!! Hoping I'm able to locate a camp like that soon...

Not sure of the dimensions of your find, but the brass item with the iron shaft resembles a Borman fuse punch. Not 100% that is what it is but it has a similar look to it. Do not hold me to this identification because the iron portion looks a bit different and/or deformed.

You are absolutely correct, I thought I’ve seen these somewhere before. Thank you for the ID help!

Outstanding CW Relic hunt! :icon_thumleft:

I'm thinking fuse punch too.It would have had a longer blade to punch into the powder. Great saves,I'll bet there's a box plate laying around there somewhere :icon_thumright:

Congrats on all the great historical finds!!! Always interesting! Good luck getting the rest of the bullets that sounds like it could take awhile!

Totally agree, did some more digging into this and that’s exactly what it is (the blade has rusted and snapped).

On the unknown Id' question. I have the same half of a heart shape piece. I'll take a picture tonight when I get home.

That's what im talkin about. Very nice hunt.:icon_thumright:
