This is just an update from a previous post.....where I found a barber dime where the sidewalk was removed....I went back and thoroughly searched the pile of dirt... and at the bottom, under numerous rusty nails I found this very worn 1849 small o seated liberty dime. Funny, but here in Colorado...in a town established in the 1870s it would seem near impossible to find something this old. I definately feel lucky.

Another great find!!!

Excuse me sir, may I find some treasure in your
dirt pile? I would love to have seen the look on
his face when he saw you ACTUALLY do it!!!

Nothing is impossable.

Especially when you have a great Silver Finder like in your first Pic.

Congrats !

Man, you are getting me to get the urge to drive up there. Denver is still too hot, and it has to be a few degrees cooler up there. In my experience out here, you don't usually find Seated that old. They tend to be in the 1870's-1880's Good stuff, might see you soon.

That silver is sweet. Nice job on the dirt pile diggins' jgas

Fantastic find... I'm kind new at this and every time I see a pile of dirt, I want to check it out. Can't wait until it cools off a little here...congrats

Persistance pays off agin!! Sweet find, had a feeling that pile of dirt would produce a goodie or two. Kinda makes you want to rip up a sidewalk or two. HH Tom

Big congrats on the seated libs, very nice! Though I'm not sure why that would seem so impossible to find there. If you dig through your pocket change now, it's not hard to find coinage from the 1970's and 80's. Why couldn't the same hold true back when the town was founded? Sweet digs! JJ
