Spent a few hours at my favorite site this morning. Got a few buttons and my 5th New Jersey copper. I haven't found a coin in a while so I was pretty happy when it came out.

Don in SJ ill post more photos if it cleans up but should be good enough for an ID. The front is toasted so I don't think there will be anything there.

Congratulations on number 5 NJ copper:thumbsup: Without seeing the Obverse (Horsehead/Plow side) it is a "e" reverse so odds on favorite it is a 1787 Maris 46-e variety. 1787 New Jersey Copper - Maris 46-e You might see enough when cleaned to verify the obverse side with the photo on this link.

You also have a rare piece:thumbsup: A complete strap guide, from BB's whats is it post!

Crusader do you know what they are used for?

Here are some pics of the strap guide. I thinks it's made of tombac metal. Thanks Crusader for the ID before I even put it in the what is it section. Thanks for looking
