Another Newbie from Central Pa

My girlfriend got me a metal detector for xmas, found this site and just wanted to say hello to everyone. I used it for the first time yesterday in a1930's house where we tore up the floors on two rooms and it was earth underneath. Found old rusty square nails, a 1946 wheat penny and a brass shell casing for a rifle, cant wait for the snow to be gone to start hunting along the river and old canal here. Bounty Hunter Lone Star is what she bought me. Any advice or words of wisdom about this MD.
Thanks for such a great site, the app is awesome also.

Hello Bruce, and welcome from another PA newbie.Congrats on your first finds! Its looking good here for some possible melt this weekend....have you considered the Marina?Don't know if you'd need permission but it seems like it might be an ok spot.

yes i would need permission to hunt on the Marina since it is a state park, i received permission today to hunt on a huge river farm along the north branch of the susquehanna, can't wait to get out there.

most PA state parks are easy. Call or stop by the office ask if you need a permit.

They are supposed to be free if needed
