Found a couple weeks ago on the rocky shoreline of Plymouth Bay. I find flint from time to time, but it’s rare in the SE region of New England.

Nice! Looks like it may have been halfted.

Great looking Utilized Flake. I love these little Tool types. Most people won't even pick them up. I have trays and boxes full of these Tools.

And how is it that you think the flake was taken off a core?

The the third and fourth pictures tell me if it was removed from a Core along with other Blades/Bladelets as well. You can see the flake the was removed right down the center of your piece right before yours was removed. You can also see the bulb of percussion in picture 4.

Thank you Grim Reaper and Tdog for pointing out the little details that only an expert eye can read and understand. As I said in beginning of this post, flint is a rarity in my region.

Better pictures = better details = instructive information

Bulb of percussion still present. Perhaps utilized flake. Some utilization wear is caused by being walked on so a good loop is needed to check for wear type.

I’m sure you meant “worked on”?
