Sold a pair of Diesel men's jeans on the bay a few weeks back. New with tags. Got an email from the buyer who claimed that the jeans had been altered and were 3 inches shorter. He will be mailing them back and I will give a refund. I personally did not measure them and just looked at the size tag. Lesson learned: Always measure yourself and take notes.

I learned that lesson too, this past summer, on a different item.

I sold a large Armstrong wrench, with 2 1/4" open end, or so it said. A few weeks after the sale, the buyer emailed me and said that the opening had been machined to fit 2 1/2".

I thought that it was odd that the estate where I bought those wrenches had two of the same 2 1/4" Armstrong wrenches. Whoever did the machining on this wrench did a very nice job.

I ate about $35 on that transaction.

Wanna guess who now takes an extra 10 seconds measuring any wrench that is going to be listed on ebay?

Me and you both, Clovis97!
Indeed a lesson learned. :)

I can buy the same brand, style, and size pair of jeans from the same store and one will fit and one won't. Gotta love outsourcing. Top quality production.

Even better is when I find a pair in a smaller size that's been cut larger... I can trick myself into thinking I wear the smaller size... ha ha ha (yeah, I am kind of delusional like that).
