I knew it was going to be a mudfest today after all the rain. But, since they mentioned that 4 letter word for Sunday, well, you know.
So, I geared up and arcticized myself. Chose a favorite site to spend the "last" day. Off I went!
I got about 5.5 hours of hunting and a pocketful of mud and finds! Hunting like there was no tomorrow, I tried to get enough to satisfy myself for however long it would be for the next hunt. I think, that if I don't get to hunt again this year, this was a pretty good way to end the year.
I'll let you judge:
Not sure what this piece is, the back has what looks like a bit of rust from the bolt but the rest isn't magnetic.
Blingie already has his eye on what I believe to be a girl scout earring.
In case you can't tell, the coins are a dollar coin and a Canadian penny.
No ride today. But, a reminder to drive carefully this holiday season.
At least the tires held up well.
Actually, this is two different cars. Neither seemed to fair very well huh?
Oh yeah! I almost forgot to tell you. I couldn't have planned the end of this hunt
better than the way real life turned out. You know those fireworks displays? The way
they end with a multitude of explosions?
Well, and this is a true story, as I walked to my car I was basically dragging the detector along.
I was TIRED!!! Mud and I don't get along too well.
Anyway, I get this surface hit, a dime. Then, another and another and another! All right on the surface!
Too late to make this shorter but after it was all over I had a quarter, 5 nickels and 6 dimes! All in a space of about 2 feet!
Ok, now I need everyone to be very, very quiet. Blingie has fallen asleep and he doesn't
know about this next find. I'm figuring to give it to him
for Christmas.
So, everyone? Shhhhhh! Mum's the word! OK?
8.6 grams .925 silver
(I know it's missing a stone, believe me, I looked as hard as I could!)
Now, how about that for a "last" hunt of the year?
(somehow, unless the ground freezes solid, I suspect I'll sneak in another before the end of December. )
Thanks for visiting! Hope it was worth the time.
