The 4 1/2" obsidian bi-face is one I found when antelope hunting. After looking closely at the larger one found at the construction site, I will agree with Gets-the-Point that it's basalt. I've been guilty of thinking every black point is obsidian without ever taking a closer look, and I had a bunch out side by side today, and several are basalt that I thought were a lower grade of obsidian. I'm posting this thread to show both sides of the construction site artifact, and the antelope find. The antelope hunt is a story in itself, so I won't enlarge on it, but I want to show both of these together. I think it's obvious in the photo that both aren't obsidian. On the construction point the patina is much more on one side than the other, while the antelope point only has patina on one side. This one was also dug out by a tractor, and was laying on top of the ground, but I don't know for how long, and I don't remember which side was up and which down.
