Another... Is This Soapstone thread

Found this box today at a sale. I can't find anything close. Looks like turquoise to me but I know it isn't. I suspect it may be soapstone. I just haven't been able to find anything with this color or even the same shaped box for that matter. I'm pretty sure it's a ladies vanity/ jewelry box and probably dates to the 20's or 30's, but that's just a semi-educated guess. What do you all think? I did pay $20 for it. That's high for me but if it is what I think it is it should fetch at least triple that. Take a look-

dont think its soapstone,blue granite maybe,but to much work for soapstone i would think.looks french to me

maybe lapis lazuli,but not sure any gold glitter in it pyrite.
