With planting looming ahead I am making a serious effort to hit my new field spots. I went out Wed. night and fought the corn stubble for a few hours. :tongue3: I was about ready to quit due to darkness when I got a decent signal and dug my first Canadian LC, 1859. :icon_thumright: I was very happy as it was at the top of my coin wish list. Also found a few doo dads, a BIG horse bit and a rusty part I am saving to show the farmer. Having more fun than a girl should playing in the dirt! :laughing7:

HH and thanks for looking,
Michiganne

You are one accomplished detectorist to have that coin on your list. I didn't know they made them! It is a beauty! Keep em coming!

No WAY!!! You just told me that was on your wish list! Congrats to you! My first one was also an 1859. I have seen many of that year, and they usually look good like yours. Happy for ya!

WTG Anne!! Yep - 1859 was my first Canadian LC also. Big congrats to ya. That field has been productive. Good luck on return hunts!!

Yup, I was pretty excited Mike. :blob10:

Here is my understanding: The Canadian LC's were first made in 1858. Actually called "province of Canada" LC's because they were not yet a country. They made them for two years (1858 -59) and then not again until 1876.

Nice condition on your first. I assure you mine don't always look so good.

Nice finds, especially the Canadian LC. What are those two things next to the LC? A button and a cufflink perhaps? Love that old horse bit too.

Yes, I think a small button on the left and the other thing I was thinking maybe the piece that a suspender attaches to. :icon_scratch:

I almost gave up on the horse bit signal because I could tell it was something big. Glad I didn't now.

Anne, the fields have been good to you! I hope the relics and coins keep popping up for you. WTG and nice digs.

You just told me last week that it was on your wish list...then you go out and find the same exact coin!!!

Nice job...way to go!

Nice job Anne! That is one beautiful big green coin! glad you knocked something off the lust...congrats!

Congrats on the 1859 Canadian Large Anne! I have found only a few over the years, but the 1859, I had to buy on FeeBay.
