Went to a bunch of different places today with my Dad. Got 3 wheaties and my first Standing Liberty Quarter (1928)! I pulled a 1965 quarter from 5 inches, and then no more than 5 feet away I got a whimpy but very repeatable dime signal at 8 inches. I had to go back to my car to get my shovel because of all of the little roots in the ground. I was tired and didn't feel like making a mess of the ground. When I had popped the hole open, a lady stopped to ask my what I was finding and I said not much... just a quarter over there. She proceeded to tell me where to go instead of where I was. She did give me some good advice, but it's a good thing I keep removing dirt from the hole because when that pulled that SLQ out, I knew it wasn't a GW. This makes 10 silver for me this year already, and I'm just getting warmed up. Also today I hunted with my new Whites Vision. It definitely is going to take some time to get use to it... I can say that I did dig one old coin with it today, one of the wheaties.
