Got back out the same place. Was moving over to try a new area and got an odd signal in an area I quickly searched before. Sounded too big to be a coin, but it was a few inches down, so decided to dig. After the plug was out, the pin pointer found a nail. Then found a second nail. Then finally a large disc came out. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Unbelievable. Could see the draped bust outline but it looked a little beat. Finally moved to a new area and got a monster button. Then a few minutes later got a jumbled signal. Out popped a 43-P WTN. That couldn't have given that signal. Rechecked and get a wheat cent. Put the pinpointer in the hole and nothing else. Pass my detector over a small patch of dirt and a high tone! Thinking possible merc I was surprised to see a larger silver. Turned out to be a 1939 Washington stuck to a 1937 wheat.
Got home and cleaned up the LC. She's flaking like crazy but I think it might be an 1803. Can you guys make anything out? Too bad it's pretty much toast.
HH all!
