Found this little piece around where I live. Not sure what the green can be, moss maybe. In person it looks part of the rock. Any info is appreciated TIA
Interesting specimen, for sure. I'm fairly certain there are crystals from a variety of minerals. That was a really rich soup that kept that cavity filled. I don't want to guess, but there are number of experienced mineral specimen people here. Someone will have something.
Native copper usually has green copper oxide all around it. This came from the middle of a football sized rock that sounded like a coin spill on my ACE 400.
Thank you!! There are definitely some crystals just hard to see. The copper makes sense as well. Seeing as they mine it relatively close to where I’m at!!
I believe that to be epidote (green) with garnet. I discovered a wash a few miles from the town of Superior, Arizona and found some nice specimens of quartz with calcite, epidote and garnets.
