Spent the day looking for the rest of my Pine Tree Shilling with Worldtalker today. No luck locating the rest of the tree, but I will happily settle for my first 3-Cent Silver! That extra large Deus coil picked it up loud and clear at 6+ inches, though it sounded like a small piece of can-slaw. The 3-Center was in the same small area of this enormous site that I found the shilling, William III half-penny, and 1882 Canadian Dime, as well as where BrokenKnee found his Barber Quarter and Sterling spoon. Finds were few and far between today, but I did manage a 1911 Barber dime, a sterling nose piece from some eyeglasses, and a handful wheaties in addition to the 3-Cent silver. Another interesting first for me today, I didn't find 1 Indian Cent. They normally jump out of the ground at this site, but oh well, no complaints.
p.s. Stay tuned for a "best of" post with my favorite silver finds from this huge colonial site for this year so far.
